Good news for lovers of colorful Christmas lights. The holiday decorations and colorful lights of Ascarate Park will soon shine again.

Starting on Saturday, December 4, 2021, the lights on the Ascalat Park Lake will begin to illuminate the county parks along the Ascalat Lake.

The details are still being worked out, but what I have learned is that the annual event of the El Paso County Parks and Recreation Center will kick off with the "Second Annual Night of Hope" at 6 pm on December 4th.

Last year, "Night of Hope" commended all medical staff for their sacrifice and dedication to the El Paso community. This year's winners have not yet been announced.

Unlike the “Night of Hope” in 2020, this is a drive-through event, because we are experiencing a very bad period of coronavirus infection and hospitalization, and the celebration in 2021 will be face-to-face, including the lighting ceremony, Live entertainment and food trucks.

There will be more Christmas events. As the event approaches, I will provide more details, but save the date for now.

After the "Night of Hope" on December 4th, Askarat's "Light on the Lake" will experience at least the first weekend of January. The lights and display will be on between 5pm and 9pm
