Money, and how to make it, is an overriding theme of October’s Insider. It is the month when we reveal the 100 wealthiest business figures here…

A private equity-backed Swedish Group has acquired a Wolverhampton-based producer of industrial and consumer packaging films.

Quality Films, which employs more than 35 people, has been snapped up by Trioworld, supported by Altor Equity Partners.

Trioworld consists of 16 companies and 1,400 staff, generating a turnover of €750m. The business agreed to purchase Shropshire's Eurofilms Extrusion Ltd earlier this year.

Chief executive Andreas Malmberg said: "I'm very happy that Quality Films will join our journey in developing the best circular offering in the market for recycled plastics.

"Quality Films superior commitment to innovative products and customer support in UK gives a fantastic platform for enhanced growth."

Matt Nicholson, chief executive of Quality Films, added: "Trioworld will help to take the Quality Films brand to the next level and build on the foundations we have laid since 1994.

"Combining our experiences will be hugely beneficial for customers as we can deliver better quality and value, something we have strived for since day one."

Quality Films approached La Salle Corporate with a view to finding a buyer for the company. A full process was undertaken, and a number of potential acquirers were identified from across Europe, the US and Asia.

Matt Dillon, partner at La Salle Corporate, said: "Having sold Eurofilms earlier in the year, we knew that the stretch film market was a buoyant sector. #

"It was a pleasure to advise Matt, his family and Sonia on the deal. Trioworld was an obvious home for the business having acquired their competitor earlier in the year. I wish the business and the shareholders every success in the future."
