Stars Hari Nef and Ariana Greenblatt have confirmed that they have finished filming WB's upcoming Barbie live-action movie starring Margot Robbie.

Two actors from Barbie have announced that they have wrapped filming for the movie, indicating the film may be close to finishing principal photography. Based on Mattel's iconic fashion doll line, the upcoming live-action movie is being helmed by Oscar-winning Lady Bird director Greta Gerwig off a script she co-wrote with Marriage Story's Noah Baumbach. Margot Robbie is starring in the title role, with Ryan Gosling playing Ken, Barbie's male counterpart. Robbie and Gosling star alongside a top-tier cast that includes America Ferrera, Simu Liu, Issa Rae, Ncuti Gatwa, Alexandra Shipp,  Ariana Greenblatt, Sharon Rooney, Ana Cruz Kayne, and Hari Nef among others.

Filming on Barbie has been underway in Los Angeles and Leavesden since spring. First-look images directly from WB revealed Robbie's Barbie driving a pink convertible and Gosling's Ken wearing a denim vest and sporting bleach-blonde hair. Subsequently, a barrage of set photos and videos leaked online, giving fans a good look at Barbie and Ken's Western ensembles and their neon-colored skating getups. In the past week, however, updates from the Barbie sets have been scant, although there seems to be a good explanation for that.

Greenblatt made the declaration on Twitter, acknowledging that she has nothing but endearment and respect for her colleagues and that she is excited for everyone to watch the film in theatres. Nef, on the other hand, shared a photo on Instagram where she posed alongside her castmates Robbie, Ferrera, Shipp, Kayne, and Rooney. At the moment it's unclear if it's just Greenblatt and Nef who are done with filming, or if the Barbie movie has finished production altogether. Even if the movie is still filming, it does look like it's approaching the finish line and an official confirmation about a production wrap seems due soon. It has been nearly four months since principal photography on the Barbie live-action movie began, so it doesn't come as much of a surprise that the movie is now in the final stretch of production.

Cashing in on nostalgia with sufficient upgrades for contemporary viewers, Barbie has taken Twitter by storm, sparking conversations and curiosity among both new and old fans. It's true that each outfit drop has been quite exciting, but there is still a lot to learn about the plot of the movie, which is largely mired in secrecy. With several stars wrapping production on the film, details could be revealed soon about the movie's plot. Of course, there is a full year until the Barbie live-action movie's release date so it's unlikely that the promotional campaign will begin before the start of 2023.
